Howdy everyone. I've been looking at z68 motherboard benchmarks and reviews from places like Tom's Hardware and Anandtech. Here's what I've found:
If it's got the Z68 chipset in it, and has all the other hardware the same, these boards seem to perform within a percent or two of each other. In other words, the determining factor is the chipset and not the manufacturer.
HOWEVER, THE PRICE RANGE ON THESE BOARDS SEEMS TO GO FROM $109 TO $299!!!
What are the differences in these boards? Besides some minor differences in the number of SATA connectors or video connectors on the back, what are the reasons to spend 2 to 3 times as much on a top board versus a basic one?
Forgot to mention: I usually run these things around spec. Not really an overclocker.
Thanks, Pete
