I have a NXST S340, my fans woudnt turn on, after further reasearch i discovered the i needed to connect the Perif to the PSU 4 my fans to work, my computer didnt boot...i was super worried and rebuilded my whole PC. After further thinking i decided to unplug the Perif cable and my pc boots up, which comes as a surprise. Im not sure what to do...i want to have my case fans to play higher end games without my pc burning up, but whenever i connect the perif the PC refuses to boot.....NEED HELP ASAP

Solution
That is weird...

Can you link pictures? I think they will get us farther than words can.

Keep in mind that your CPU fans should always be connected directly to the motherboard to avoid problems.

Extra case fans can be plugged into your fan hub.
The fan hub gets its power from the PSU.

Your PC might not boot if it thinks there aren't any CPU fans, so make sure they are always plugged directly into the motherboard, not in hubs.

Sure here are the pictures http://imageshack.com/a/img922/5686/CjEuci.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img922/48/6cqbgL.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img923/8483/SgA7hh.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img922/6170/yI3IBQ.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img923/2570/ofdy7D.jpg I have the 4 pin connector for the fans connected to the 4 pin connection that says CPU FAN 1, the 1st image shows that the perif isint connected and the computer turns on, when it´s connected it doesnt turn on, the case has 2 fans and i have the cable 4 it connected aswell. The computer works fine when the perif isint connected, the issue comes when i run high end games my PC overheats. I would also like to add a few other things, im currently on a 2 month trip so i decided to bring my desktop with me, i put the screws in a little baggie and put the little baggie in a bigger baggie where i had my KB and Mouse. Unfortunately the baggie fell out of the bag and I dont have the screws.. on further research i saw it was viable to have ur PC sideways (aslong as ur MB rests on the mount) not sure that the screws not being there affect anything, also my 3.0 USB connection (the blue one) has a bent pin not sure if that affects anything aswell.... Im also hooked up to a TV not a monitor. P.S things have been pretty hectic 4 me lately so i didnt notice my nails looked that disgusting i apologize!

I already turned my case around, since that´s where the cables 4 both the case fans run through and everything is connected right, the perif is put together with the fan cables and the 4 pin connection that I assume connects to CPU Fan1 on the MB. Without the perif the fans don´t spin, when i connect the Perif to one of the pata ports in the PSU the computer doesn´t turn on, so im not even 100% sure the perif is the issue on why the fans won´t turn on. Im kinda lost here.

Man am i ever confused now.

that is a picture of a PCIe 6 pin power connector

Picture of a powered off system, i am guessing you've unplugged your PCIe Power from the PSU

Picture of a Molex plugging into something.

You're showing me a lot of picture of PCIe Power and your GPU. The GPU needs to always be plugged in.

Where do the fans come into the picture?

I think we are suffering a language barrier confusion.

first picture shows the perif not connected, 2nd shows how it works without the perif. 3rd shows me pointing to the piref and showing it´s connected. 4th shows the PC doesnt turn on when the piref is connected. 4th shows the that the molex 4 the fans is connected. The GPU is always plugged in. The fans don´t seem to work any way 🙁.

I think i read somewhere that with the current case i have im forced to use the Molex unless i have some sort of adapter im not sure if that´s true but i guess it´s worth mentioning.

OK, lets go back....
what is a Perif? Try and use real names and terms. Are we talking about a PCIE 6+2 pin here? Why are you unplugging it? What does it have to do with fans?

AHHH i found the problem, the fans didnt work when i had them connected to the MB (for some reason) the perif was to connect them to the PSU. So I connected the perif to the PSU while still having the 4 pin on the MB so i had a fan connection to both the PSU and MB which i guess prevented the fans from working. I just tried disconnecting the 4 pin connector which i had on the MB and just leaving the perif connection on the PSU, and the fans turned on! Im not sure why the fans didn´t turn on when they were connected to the MB but im just satisfied they work now. Thx 4 the help!

Im not too sure what a Perif is, im guessing it was the Molax connector to the PSU. I was told it could be for many things including the fans so i assumed that was the problem.
