Problem
Computer periodically black screens, as if the GPU is not send signal or vise versa. When this happens the monitors LED power light remains active with the color signifying it's on. It also does not display "no signal" just black screens. This leads me to believe it's not the monitor. These hiccups occur minutes apart and last a couple seconds.

Solutions attempted
Updating Windows and uninstalling drivers, then reinstalling.

Relative info
Visited AMD's forums and found threads regarding the new Crimson app displaying it's not compatible with Windows 10. My app says the same. Moderator in that thread suggested to clean install drivers or "they are figuring it out, Windows update broke something."

Solution
Windows 10 is still fairly new, so it is possible there will be bugs like this. That being said, we can probably try to find a problem otherwise.

To make sure we cover our bases, go to power settings and make sure that you are on high performance, and that the monitor is not set to sleep. It's unlikely to be the cause of our problems, but we might as well check.

I would definitely try to do a clean install. Maybe I'd even consider re-installing Windows, if it wouldn't be a big bother to re-download software. It might help clear up issues. Also consider rolling back to an earlier driver.

You can also try taking a look at the event log. It might be that the driver is crashing, so that signal is not being sent properly to the monitor.

Solution
So turned power usage to high performance as stated while testing the monitors. The original monitor persists while the replacement hasn't. Might be a monitor issue. Before I declare it the monitor, where do I find the log for the drive?

P.S. I've tried the clean install of the drive with no success. I preferably don't want to reinstall the os, I've done it before but that's the last resort.

I'm not sure with Windows 10, actually. I think it might still be under the Control Panel; google for the "event log" if in doubt.

It does seem like it is a monitor issue, though, if replacing it fixed the issue. Try using another video source on the suspected monitor to confirm.

Update

Used a different video source and used a dual display, an hour for each setup while playing the game it most frequently happens(csgo). Neither setups black screened. Then used the original source for awhile with the same result. The recent updates from Windows or amd may have fixed the problem. I will find the event log tomorrow for further evaluation, thank you.
