Periodic FPS drop in open world games

Periodically I will get fps drops from anywhere from 60-80 to like, 20.
Specifically in open world games, I've replaced the RAM cards in my pc(and added more), aswell as upgraded from a 560 to a 760. (Yes I have the latest drivers)

Here are my current specs:

GPU: Nvidia GTX 760
CPU: AMD-8320 Eight Core
RAM: 12gb DDR3

It's multiple games, mainly open world ones.

Fallout 4, Empyrion, Just Cause 2.

You're getting drops in Just Cause 2 as well? That is strange. You'd expect a 5 year old game to work well on that PC.
What about your graphics drivers?

Empyrion looks like an early access game. It's bound to have problems relating to FPS. I'd give it more time as devs might patch it up.

Just Cause 2 showing this problem is strange. The other two, it's okay. You tried playing around the settings in-game?

Sorry for the late reply, any game that has these drops I have tried, lowering to the lowest settings and the problem still persists.

Have you tried a driver downgrade? Not all the latest drivers work well for me, so that might be a problem.
Since you upgraded from a 560 to a 760 and still shows drops, we can assume it's not a hardware fault.

it could be the CPU's single core speed since those games dont use alot of cores but i highly doubt it, As said above try to change your drivers
