peripherals starting before CPU

Hey guys,

Few months ago I assembled my computer and I found that when power is supplied to the machine and before the CPU starts the keyboard and mouse turns on, even if I connect my external hard drive to the cpu via USB cable, ext HardDrive turns on before the CPU...I never saw any machine in which peripherals are getting power before the CPU does. So it seems there is some problem with my machine. kindly tell me how do I resolve this problem.

I would appreciate if u resolve this problem for me.

Are all of these peripherals connected by USB? If so, you may have a motherboard feature enabled which allows power to some or all USB ports (ie for charging devices) even when power to the full system is off.

Hello... Yes... USB will power up on MB's before the start switch or Computer start... You Don't have a problem... People use their USB ports as a charger with some MB's.

my keyboard and mouse has ps2 connectors.

Do you mean you have no fan activity when you first start the computer?

yes sir...keyboard, mouse and external drive light up even when the system is off.
I dont have any problem after booting up, the problem is when my machine is shut down then why my peripherals are getting power.

Hello... Your Power Supply switch or outlet strip is still on... it takes some time for the 5VDC line Capacitors to drain down too.

If You need another easy to get to switch between the wall and the Computer power supply... I use a mult-outlet switch for all my monitors too... this is Good for lightning and storm protection too.
