Permanently stuck reverting changes in Windows 8

I have an ASUS Notebook X552MA. It has been stuck with the "Reverting changes" screen for over 4 days now. There has got to be a way to get into some other options to boot into Safe Mode or something.

I've tried powering off completely, and rebooting. - Eventually comes back to "Reverting changes".

Holding F8 while powering on. - Get the same thing.

Holding the left shift key + F8 while powering on. - Same thing.

I don't know of a way to get into the BIOS without going through the Windows 8 Advanced Bootup options which I can't get to. I don't know how to boot off a USB drive either in this state.

Every answer I've googled says to wait until it finishes. Unfortunately, after this many days, I don't believe it's going to finish. It's simply permanently stuck. What can I do?

I went on and googled one more time and found another suggestion that said press F8+F9+F10+F11+F12 at the same time. I did this and finally got the Advanced Menu options. Trying out those items in hopes of resolving without Refreshing or Restoring.

So here's the latest development. Since I was finally able to get into the menu options, I tried Automatically Fixing. It came and said it couldn't do anything. So I tried to change the BIOS to boot off a USB, but I couldn't find the option to turn off UEFI and boot the old way. Then I tried to go back to a Restore Point which looked like it was working. Spent at least 45 doing that, then finally rebooted. But then Windows started doing the update changes, which obviously it won't take because it's now back to Reverting changes again.

Is there any way to stop it from trying to load the updates during bootup WHILE booting up? Remember, I haven't been able to get into Windows all the way yet.
