After much testing and advice, I have a recurring issue that I cannot figure out. This is a simplification of what has happened (the original post became so bloated with my different attempts...)

Current setup (Recently upgraded)
CPU
: Ryzen 7 5700X
MB: Gigabyte B550M
RAM: 32 GB XPG Spectra D35
GPU: Radeon RX 6600
SSD: 2 Samsung 860 EVOs (512 and 1 TB, respectively)
PSU: CoolerMaster Masterwatt 750 (3.5 years old)
OS: Windows 11 Pro

What's Happening
I experience persistent crashes, complete reboots. Mostly while playing games, but occasionally while using the PC normally. Temps for CPU & GPU remain between 30-60C.

I can replicate the problem by going to Device Manager>Display Adaptors>GPU>Properties>Driver>Driver Details

Whenever I do click on Driver Details, 4 out of 5 times, the computer hard crashes. In Windows Event Viewer, this is the error that preceded the crash, with the more detailed view to follow:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor APIC ID: 0

The details view of this entry contains further information.

What I Have Tried
  • BIOS: Updated to newest version, FEe — Reset CMOS
  • OS: Reinstalled Windows in offline mode and installed all drivers
  • GPU: Uninstalled and installed drivers with DDU multiple times, in offline mode — Used Eco mode — Undervolted — Rolled back drivers — Used my old card (Rx 570) — Limited FPS to 60 — Reseated GPU — Stress tested with OCCT for 10 minutes
  • PSU: Replaced cable going to GPU (modular)
  • CPU: Reseated (no bent pins) — installed updated drivers in offline mode
  • RAM: Reseated — Ran WMD with no issues found
  • SSD: Ran Samsung Magician with no issues found
Does this seem like a case of a bad GPU? Or... a CPU?

Thank you for your help!

GPU: Uninstalled and reinstalled Radeon drivers (using their Cleanup utility each time)
Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, Nvidia and AMD) in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

BIOS: Updated to newest version
For the sake of relevance, please mention the version for your BIOS that you'd flashed to. Also, did you clear the CMOS after verifying your BIOS flash was successful?

OS: Reinstalled Windows 11 (deleted all partitions and started fresh)
Did you recreate your bootable USB installer for your OS? Did you install the OS in offline mode, to later install all drivers manually in an elevated command, to later connect to the internet to update the OS?

PSU: Replaced the old 8 pin connector with a new one (modular PSU)
You might want to source(borrow, not buy) a reliably built PSU from a friend or neighbor that can deliver 550W of power to the entire system and see if the issue persists.

I took a few days to troubleshoot, but the problem still persists... 😒

I tried each of LutFij's suggestions (except for the PSU one) and the problem is still there.

Just an update: I reinstalled windows, and installed drivers before connecting to the internet. Before connecting to the internet, I went to Device Manager like above and the computer continues to crash.

Does this seem like a bad GPU? or a bad CPU? Bad Mobo?
