Firstly,
I have recently upgraded my entire system. In my profile you can see the exact build I'm running and after getting the 2080 and getting dual channel memory running all I can say is just.... WOW. Especially with Shadow Of The Tomb Raider with all settings maxed out I'm averaging 90+ fps in the Last hub area (Hidden city?)
To the point though.
With my said build I'm a little disappointed still with Far Cry 5's performance. Regardless what graphic settings I use, simply when I drive around in a vehicle the game has a small stutter every few seconds. It happens When I'm in foot as well, but more noticeable when travelling at faster speed across the ground. MSI Afterburner reflects this stutter with a drop in fps of about 1-4 frames. CPU load and GPU load are not peaking, with still having good overhead left on the CPU.
I close every background app I can in W10, have tried using Process Lasso highest performance mode, toggling different resolutions, refresh rates, fullscreen / borderless, g-sync off and on.... Nothing seems to eliminate the stutter. Unless someone else has an idea or solution, I'm finally now after so long, just about to come to the conclusion that its an engine issue, not a hardware issue. I haven't benchmarked Far Cry 4 as of yet, but the exact same stutter happens in that game too. Curiously though, Far Cry Primal does not have this stutter for me.
Anyone else experience this?
