PES 13 and 12 (PC) stuck at loading screen

Recently I've not been able to play Pro Evolution Soccer 13 or 12 on my PC.
Whenever I start the game I am stuck at the loading screen and the little blue circle keeps rotating forever.

This is what I get

I have more than enough hardware components to operate the game without any problems, in fact, both of them used to work on this computer a few months back.
I have the latest DirectX, C++ 2008 redist., Microsoft .Net 4.0.
I tried re-installing the game, re-installing windows, using different PESEdit patches, but nothing seems to work.

Problem solved guys! Apparently it was an old virus or something that spoiled the game setup files.
I re-downloaded it and it worked just fine.
