I've upgraded from a 1080p tv to a ROG PG287Q 2K gaming monitor. However, everything looks much more pastel, and soft with less fine detail compared to the TV. Is there any way to increase the sharpness?

I think if you go into the monitor settings (not sure where as I don't own the monitor ) have a look through the sub menu's using the buttons I guess on the back or under the side of the panel and adjust the sharpness that way, also you could go into your video card options and adjust them like that, I also found if you got a 144hz monitor I had to set mine to that from 60. That made it look sharper for me,

There is no option for increasing sharpness. There is just contrast, brightness and colour warmth. It's like i'm looking at the panel through a fine mist or fog I guess. I Was playing the witcher 3 for example and it almost looked cell shaded.

Go into your video card settings then, adjust those i.e picture quality, sharpness, gamma and quality.

The quality in nvidia control panel is maxed quality. The resolution is set to native 2k 144hz, I tried adjusting the colour and gamma settings according to forum recommendations to no avail. Any setting on the sliders doesn't remove the pastel blurry look.

To be honest if you have tried all that, I think its because you are not use to the new resolution, TV's and Monitors are quite different in many ways and I will say when i went from 1050p to 2K It took some adjusting, took me about a week. But I got over it, then when I look at 1080p or 1050 it looks washy and big.

Cryowolf, maybe you are right. On my tv, I could see fine hairs, textures on characters and icons in games and on the desktop. I thought that detail would go up on a 2k monitor, not down. Oh well. :(. Thanks for your responses anyway.
