Hi all. I just set up a new Q3 server. It was immediately listed on
the ingame server list, people were connecting, things were really
pretty for, well, 3 hours! After which the server would not show under
the ingame list.
I created another completely different osp cfg for it, same thing!
Server is up, bots are running around, but no one connects!
I know what you're thinking.. dedicated 2, opened 27950, 27960, 27952
(for PB), set sv_master0, 1, 2, 3, .....!!! All I'm getting now is a
heartbeat to the different master servers.. :-(
I don't claim to be an expert, but I have researched this thing
extensively and was able to run it online for those 3 hours..
I am behind a Linksys router that worked fine the first time. Nothing
has changed on it. Server still shows under "local", PB is running,
bots are having an orgy by themselves..
Oh btw, when using +set net_ip "MyWanIP" I get the following errors:

Opening IP socket: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:27960
WARNING: UDP_OpenSocket: bind: WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL
..
..
..
WARNING: Couldn't allocate IP port

Error goes away when net_ip is removed, and the local internal LAN IP
is used.

- The start command is: "c:\*****\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe" +set
com_hunkmegs 56 +set dedicated 2 +set net_Port 27962 +exec osp4.cfg
- Computer specs: P4 2.53GHz, 512MB RAM, WXP Pro.
- Nothing special about the cfg: diables BFG, sets warmup time, map
rotation...
- No firewall on except the router's.
- Cable modem with 3Mbps/384kbps up/dnload

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guyz..

Ray!

It's the way the ingame browser and the id master server list works. It
updates every 4 hours, If you were on it, and at or near the top of the list
you won't be after next update. if you change ports the new port will show
up. for 4 hours. Kind of a pain. There is a way to stay on the list but I'm
not sure how. Just thought you should know, it's not anything you're doing.
