i need some advice in upgrading my current PC Gaming:

phnm ii x4 970
hd 6850
cheap MSi mobo (760)
8gb RAM
500gb hdd
seasonic 550w

i was researching a bit of R9 270 (not fanboy but budget gamers) and it seems like promising in smooth multiplayer Battlefield™4 with 1080p res.
Does it better to be pair with latest FX processor?, and if it is will that mobo i mentioned good enough for it?

unless you are going for a fx from the 9000 series your processor more than upto the task as it is on par with some of the strongest fx processor on the market at the moment ...

ah, my current procie as par with fx6300.
what about power consumption, fx has less which is good. but not sure..
