Phenom II 720 OC question

I'm running a Phenom 720 on an Asus m4a78t-e with Patriot Viper DDR3. I can get a stable OC at 3.2G 16x200 at 3.75 V. To go any higher I have to bump the voltage on the CPU up to almost 1.45V. I've tried upping the CPU/NB to 1.3V and have turned off c1e and spread spectrum, but no matter what I do I can't get the CPU to run stable past 3.4G (I don't want to push my voltage any higher than 1.45). Is there any other settings i should try have I reached the limit for this particular processor?
 


im glad you are not runing it on 3.75V as you had written :) i think you meant 1.375 :)

if you have good cooling and temps are not more than 60C i dont think you can go any higher if it is not stable on 1.45 at 3400. I had good piece and im running at 1.395 and 3600Mhz...I cant go past 3600, even not on 1.510.
I know 1 guy who is running on 1.435 at 3800.
 
My highest stable OC (prime95 8h+) with my 710 (non BE version of your chip) is 3.45, at 1.45v. With stock volts, i can see 3.2, but need a whopping .050v bump to use the 3.25ghz stable for daily use. I don't mind, as the temps are very good (around 28c idle/54c load).

I find it interesting that such a narrow band of OC requires so much volts, as I am also able to clock 3.1ghz p95 stable with a -.025v, and 3.0ghz at -.050v. I am not technically proficient enough in this field to understand why, just giving my experiences.
 
Thanks for the replies. I found something interesting today. If I set the CPU voltage in the bios to auto I can run at 3.6 stable. When I check the voltage with CPU-z or AMD overdrive it reads 1.325. This sounds good so far, but when I run prime 95 the CPU starts to overheat (I stop the test when it gets close to 60C).

There is a setting in AMD overdrive CPU extra-OV that is set to .3V . I'm wondering if it is adding voltage to my CPU and CPU-Z is registering it. I'm going to drop it back down to 3.2G until I get this figured out.
 
I have my 720BE running at 1.4 V @ 3.4 Ghz with no stability issues, I don't know if you consider 1.4V too high. Under full laod it was just shy of 40 deg C.

Recently i started bumping the FBS up to 204 MHz. It ran prime95 but i didn't let it run for hours as I started getting impaitent but I haven't had any problems with in running programs. Full load temps at 3.468Ghz@1.4V were 42 deg on the hottest temperature sensor.
 
I'm running a blue orb, I know it's not the best but it works fine at 3.2 and manually inputting 1.375V. Temps will max out at around 40C.

If I set the CPU voltage to auto CPU-z will read 1.325V under full load, but I can't keep the temps under 60C when I'm running prime 95. This is why I think that it's not reading the voltage properly.
 
Your temps do look good with auto v off. 1.4v it within warranty voltage range, I wouldn't be concerned, especially with such low temps. 40c at load is nice for +.050v. I am at 55ish at load, 3.25ghz with the same volts. Stock cooling has got to go, hah.
