Newegg has this combo deal:

1. AMD HDZ940XCGIBOX: $229.00
2. FOXCONN A79A-S: $224.99
Combo Discount: -$110.00
Combo Price: $343.99
$34.00 Mail-In Rebate

Seems like an incredible deal, if you're willing to count rebates. The Foxconn board, though unknown, is loaded. Besides, a 940 and a board for $309 total is just a plain good deal.

If I add in some G.Skill PI Black and a WD Caviar Black, this would make a great system.

What do you guys think?

I haven't built a P2 yet, but I'm inclined to agree. Foxconn's rep isn't great, but that board looks very solid. Just make sure you get a quality PSU of whatever size you need; that will likely be based on your choice of GPU(s).

I don't see any others with a combo discount of $110 PLUS a $34 rebate...

Though I will admit, if I was to buy a PII 940 today I would still probably pick the GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4 over the Foxconn...

Read the reviews of that mobo, the layout of the PCIEx16 slots kinda deters me. Although the price is very good. It has 4 of them, but the x16 mode slots are farthest away from each other with an x4 and x8 in the middle, so it makes it kinda pointless when trying to run xfire in x16 mode. I would go with the asus board combo instead.

Over the GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4, which is roughly the same price (without a discount)?

If you're not going to run SLI/xfire, seems like a close call.

Sorry getting OT now... :sarcastic:
