g.skill has the same ram but cheaper, I find corsair a bit overpriced. The markup on them is a lot.

thanks sassan. unfortunately i'm in australia atm and some things are just hard to come by here down under. i totally agree with you about corsair being a bit overpriced but i feel i'm getting a decent deal on this particular set

look up the prices on the 4850x2 2gb from ati see if it's something you want.

Just had a look at the prices and benchmarks. while I would def go for 4850 x2 if I was looking for the most power immediately, one of my main objectives with this machine is to future-proof it (hence why I recently changed to the better mobo). so I dont mind paying more in the long run as long as the PC lasts me for a quite a few years. the 4870 is more than enough for me in the mean time anyways 😀
