Phenom II 955 cant handle 4k videos

Holy s**t my phenom II x4 cant handle these videos,it lags as hell and hits 100%usage,i'm very surprised,does it really take that much horsepower for a damn video.

I can't link my own screenshots showing my old 965 right now, but you're pretty much correct. Phenom II doesn't have enough power for H264 4K video.

Once I get home, I'll link you some. I managed to play 4K content using LAV+CUDA and a GTX670 (experimenting of course). That's as close as you'll get to 4K using a Phenom II.

For 4k video, I would say yes, it probably does. We are just now seeing hardware that can just barely get by playing games at such resolution. Mid 30's for FPS at best with an i7 4930x and an R9 290x. :lol:

Ah, I didn't save my Phenom II pictures trying to do decode, but at least I have the GTX670 pics decoding it using the i7 2700K.
