i have an ATI HD7770 vapor x @1280x720 monitor
and i'm looking for a good AMD cpu that's not so expensive for gaming
-so would a phenom II X2 560BE bottleneck that gpu ?
-and how bad is it compared to the 955BE ?

Solution
Generally, no. That being said, some games basically need 4 threads. These games will bottleneck, but they will do so with any card. Its a decent match though. The X4 would be much better in the above mentioned games that require 4 threads, so in that case it could make a huge difference.

just slapped any quad core amd proc and you'll never have to worry bottlenecking your hd7770.

Except for the fact that a phenom II x4 costs around the same, even a bit more, then the 7770..

it sure is worth it though. even an sb/ivy pentium can beat a phenom x2 in gaming.

I agree with you to an extent. However if the OP is only considering the 7770, they probably don't want to spend double the amount of money.

well it is his money, so he is free to choose what he wants. besides he's asking what cpu upgrade will benefit him the most. i merely gave my opinion on the subject matter and you said it yourself "The X4 would be much better in the above mentioned games that require 4 threads, so in that case it could make a huge difference. " which is why i am baffled with your reactions :??:
