Phenom II x4 955BE Maximum RAM?

Hello!
I would like to ask that how much RAM is the maximum for this CPU? I would like to buy as many is possible because I want to use RAM as RAMDisc (Older MMO with bad motor)
I found this .
The CPU is Phenom II x4 955BE , the motherboard is Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3

Its limited by the motherboard not the cpu abnd according to this 32Gb http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3894#sp

It is better to buy 2x8 or 4x4 sticks?

There is not benefit to 4x4 unless its cheaper 2x8 has the benefit of being able to add more later so there is not much between them.

2x8 if you want to overclock and use a large cpu cooler. Some of the fins on ram dont fit under the larger coolers.
