How would I go about OCing this? I have a cpu fan and I monitor my temps constantly. I am running crysis 3/witcher 2 and would love to get about 10 fps more. Hoping if I OC my cpu a bit it will help. First time OC anything though so talk slow please
Yes just don't go over 1.5 and make you monitor your temps very closely during stress testing. I would also recommend against using presets and use the method described. You can get much better and higher stable oc that way. Here is another very useful link that will describe voltages and more http://www.techreaction.net/2009/05/28/phenom-ii-am3-overclocking-essentials/
What graphics card do you have? Please describe the rest of your system, including the motherboard, RAM, and brand and model (not just wattage) of your PSU.

I went to my bios and saw an option of what looked like preset OC. one for 3.6 3.8 and 3.9. I selected the 3.8 but I am too inexperienced to know how to tell if its helping
Here is a good thread that I used when I was overclocking my 965 http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/254559-29-phenom-overclocking-help
Thanks for the link. I have been looking through that exact one and a few others for awhile. I am just a little too cautious when its my first time doing something and specially when I can't afford a new cpu >_<
