I'm considering an opportunity of buying this CPU in order to replace my Athlon CPU. I have watched some vids of this guy performing in modern video games (like AC Syndicate and GTA 5) and it has left me impressed. The only concern is my mobo, GA-970A-DS3P (first revision), the thing is that I'd like to OC this CPU to 3.5-3.6(-ish) GHZ in the future, and I'd like to know whether my mobo's VRM will handle this overclocked fella or not. I've got a high-end CPU cooler so VRM is my only concern.

Solution
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P does uport the x6 with bios F1 and the chip still has it's uses, especially if bought dirty cheap, althouth a first generation Ryzen 3 1200 or second generation Ryzen 3 2200U are superior for todays gaming.

That'd force me to buy a whole new platform (mobo + DDR4 ram) which I'm not planning to do.
