Phenom x4 850 @3.3 Bottleneck?

Would my Phenom x 4 850 @ 3.3 be bottlenecking a XFX 7950 @ 980Mhz clock/1370MHz memory

Yes, it would begin to bottleneck. Consider upgrading it the near future.

If you go the AMD route I highly recommend you look into the 8320. It's the same chip, just a lower frequency.

No it's not a bottleneck for the GPU you are just more CPU bound in relation to games that rely heavily on the cpu.

Your performance should be quite close to the Q6600 @ 3.0GHz likely a little less due to the lack of cache.

However a new CPU is a good Idea unless you can keep going with the overclock.

Pretty good; for a motherboard get an i5 4570k or an 8350.

^This. A simple multiplier bump gets you FX 8350 speed.
