Using Nero I can cut to old CD's (i.e. I have Cds that have one item on that I do not give to clients but use to store jobs in progress etc). In Windows I can then view what I have cut to disc.
However I bought new discs as I wanted to put a client's job onto it, Nero goes through the motions but when I want to view the files in windows I can't see anything?
I took my computer to Incredible connection to verify that the discs were correct (which they were) and when he attached an external CD writer to my laptop and put the new disc I had cut into the drive I could view it in windows.
Is it Windows or is it Philips - my intellect says Windows as they are constantly updating? Any thoughts? I left incredible connection being told I have to buy an external CD writer for R1,500?!

Solution
A good place to start is updating the driver in Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager. That said, at the end of the day, an external may be the only way out. Almost a hundred British pounds is a little extreme - try your local e-Bay site. A DVD writer will be a lot more expensive than a plain CD unit.
