Question Philips MERIDIAN 234EL2 shows "Looking for cable" when i turn off pc for ages and its so bright

its connected byHDMI
and when you turn off pc its"looking for cable" on black background for so long and its so bright I can read in night its bothers me so much and makes it hard to go to sleep coz when i turn off pc from phone lying on bed i don't want to get up to turn off monitor on its touch screen buttons
how can i make it not look for cable and turn off immediately ?

By turning the rocker switch on the power strip/surge protector/wall socket to off.
