Phone detects 5 ghz channel but not 2.4 ghz

- Phone Make/ Model: Samsung Galaxy S5
- Router Make/ Model: Trendnet N600 Dual Band Router
- Modem Make/ Model: Netgear 7550 Modem/ Router

-OS: Lollipop

- ISP: Frontier (6 Mbps DL DSL Connection )
- 4 devices on the network (3DS, tablet [also only detecting 5 ghz channel], S5, laptop)

it would be better connecting to the 5ghz instead of the 2.4. Some devices, like wireless phones can interfere with 2.4ghz but not 5ghz.

I just switched over to my DLink N900 for the time being. I appreciate the input though
