Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo, I was using it (normal use on youtube...) and suddenly it stopped receiving any internet signal. I can still connect to wifi (so i can go to settings, choose the wifi name and it says connected to Edimax....) but there is no internet coming in ( I can't go on google...). This only happens between my phone and my modem. Other phones can connect to my modem and my phone can connect to other wifi (public...) What do I do? Help?

I have an idea that perhaps something is blocking my phone's Mac Address and not letting me to use internet. Sadly I do not have a lot of knowledge about this subject and don't know how to check that this is the case. If somebody could direct me to how to check if any Mac Address is blocked, I would be grateful.

I have a TG589vn v3

Your problem is common enough that there is no reason to assume it is from someone with access to the router blocking you. The first thing is to delete the connection information on the phone and reconnect. Do this while physically close to the router to assure a strong signal.

To check for a mac address block, log into the router with a wired computer and navigate around its setup pages to find the section for blocking. Google the terms TG589vn v3 manual for the manual.

I am afraid deleting the information and reconnect does not help. I even tried factory resetting the phone. That did not help.

This forum is populated with complaints of similar problems. It can be internal to the phone or a problem on the router.

There is no one solution to it. You've reset the phone, so look to the router to identify a problem there. If you have a specific reason to suspect someone has blocked you, like a sibling hogging the internet, then a look at the router setup pages for an mac address block would be a good first step before doing a reset.

For people that know how to set up their router's wifi, I suggest a reset and re-provision rather than spending a lot of time mucking around.

If this equipment is provided by your ISP, you can also contact their technical support if you need help doing a reset. They may be able to handle it for you or address the problem in some other way from their end.

However, if you want to muck around with the wifi, even if just to learn a few things about it, here are some things that can help.

A simple power cycle of the router.
Temporarily turn off encryption on the router and reestablish the connection then re-enable encryption with WPA2/AES only.
Try a new encryption passphrase by typing it into a text editor then copy/pasting into the router setup and the device connectoid. No one is immune to typos in the complex passwords we should be using.
Change the wifi channel on the router from automatic to a fixed number, for 2.4 Ghz choose from among 1, 6, or 11.
Turn off channel bonding by setting channel width to 20MHz only, not 20/40 or auto.
5 GHz Wifi can get interference from 5.8 GHz cordless phones. Try fixed channels from 36 through 48.
Back up the router settings and update the firmware if available. This should be done anyway.
Back up the router settings then restore the router's settings to the factory defaults and completely reprovision it.

I am afraid none of these worked. 🙁 . I have tried contacting my isp technicians, they don't know what it is, they say they are giving me their services normally

You've tried resetting your phone and router and setting up without encryption. If your phone will still not connect to the wifi properly I am at a loss and am not able to help more. Feel free to repost the question if you want.

Ok thank you
