Hey guys looking to build a computer for my mother for 4k video and photo editing (mostly photos) and a general workstation computer. I don't know much about requirements for a photo editing computer. Budget is 1000 dollars plus or minus a few hundred. Any suggestions would be nice, and being as future proof as possible would be amazing.

thank you

for a little more money pick up a fast boot os drive.
with the dropping of the newer nvidia 2000 rtx cards see what cards for your build price will do 4k. right now the 1070ti and 1080 and higher can do 4k at 60 hrz.
on intel cpu there also the 9000 gpu that are dropping in oct from the last leaks. also if you have a local micro center look at there combo deals. for the power supply also go a little larger then needed. it keep the power supply cooler and last longer. it also give you extra amps to go with a loarger gpu latter on. one thing to ask your mom does she need one or two monitors if she uses it for work. some people like two monitors..some people like one larger curved units. if she does not want to lose her work/personal photos. pick up an ethernet based storage device so she can back up he work there. also use backup software and a few large usb sticks and cloud backup. at some point she may want to look at a walcom tablet or a clone.
