Hi, I have photos and videos etc saved all over the place on my pc (win7).

I am hoping to ungrade to win10 upon a new install of win7 and would like to temporarily export all my personal media to another drive.
If I do a .jpg search (for example) I obviously get every single jpg on my pc, system icons and all the rest of unrelevant windows stuff.

Is there a way to leave/exclude these unecessary from the serch please?
All and any advice appreciated. Tom

Sort them by size.
User images usually are much larger than any windows system pictures/icons.

It can't be avoided to note that if you don't want to eventually lose your photos and media, there should be multiple backups at all times, not just when you're installing a new OS. When data is only stored in one place, the only question is when you'll lose the data forever, not if.

Thanks for the prompt replies.
I've only got myself to blame, I have a new HD arriving tomorrow and also will be investing in an external for backup.
I've lost so much stuff over the years so I really must get on top of it.
Cheers
