Photoshop CS5 is running slow in windows 7

I installed Photoshop CS5 to my PC.
My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit. It is very slow when I zoom or pan. & brush tool also very slow.
Why is that?

PC specifications are :-
2.93 Dual-Core Processor
4GB DDR2 RAM
1GB nVidia Ge-Force 9400GT VGA
500GB + 320GB Sata 3GB/s 7200RPM 16M hard disks

How large are the files you are working on? Is this a new issue?

As hang-the-9 said, it depends to a large extent on the size of the files. Your processor might be too slow to handle those files.
Try this: When working in CS5, open task manager & see how much the processor is being utilized, under performance tab. Post the results.
