What is the best video card for Photoshop? Thansk.

Photoshop doesn't really care what graphics card you have, as long as it has enough memory to support the resolution and number of colors you're using.

I recommend the cheapest radeon you can find. VE, 7000, 7200... they're all good. Ati uses better RAMDACS than Nvidia so the display quality is better.

Matrox is also good for display quality, but in MHO they're overpriced.

I agree with Cleeve on this one. ATI does have better image quality than the Nvidia cards...and it won't matter what card you get if you are only using it for photoshop. Spend 60-70 bucks and pick up the RADEON 8500LE w/ 64MB and you'll never have to upgrade it if you only do photoshop. Or if that's out of your price range...go for the 7500 for 40 bucks.

The best card for Photoshop is not ATI, and definitely not nVidia. Get a Matrox. You can find some 450s and 550s for around $100 and the 2D images will be better than anything you can get from ATI or nVidia. If you can afford it and want top of the line grab a Parhelia, or wait until the Matrox 650s come out. Parhelia should drop in price or you could just get a 650. If you're planning on gaming at all then get an ATI (8500 or better), since Matrox doesn't do so well with 3D.

Ditto the above. Matrox will give you the VERY best 2D image quality, which is what you are looking for. And if you move to dual monitors (for work/tools monitors), they do that great too.

You can get some of the refurbed Matrox 450s and 550s at NewEgg for less than $70 right now.
