Physical memory - task manager

hello,

I have 4gb ram 1333 (2x2), I added more 8gb 1333 (2x4), total 12gb.
I can see on the properties panel 12gb ram and everything works fine, The problem is on my task manager I have total physical memory of 6, shouldnt it be total of 12gb? is it better to use only the 2x4gb? will I see total memory of 8?
The system is: Vista 64, I 5 CPU, GIGABYTE 1156 US3L motherboard(up to 16gb ram).

On a system running x64 Vista Home Basic, your maximum is 8 GB of RAM. x64 Vista Home Premium supports as far as 16 GB of RAM. However, because your system's reflecting only 6 gb, that's kinda strange.

Have you tried removing your old 4gb module pair to see if it properly reflects 8 gb?
