Hey all I'm trying to figure out why I get such big frame drops in Borderlands 2 in heavy physx situations.. I have a 3570 non k, GTX 770 16 gigs G.SKILL 1600 ram, MSI Z77A-G45 mobo and and a GTX 660ti that MSI gave me when they had to rma an HD7870 twice. My steam library is on a 750 gb WD caviar blue. All this powered by a Seasonic 650 80+ gold psu.

When playing the game physx off I get pretty much a solid 60 fps (might drop to 58 here or there). When with physx on high using just the 770 I drop to mid to low 30s fps when using explosive (electric to a lesser degree) weapons. Its especially bad if you have an explosive gun and you hit somebody while zoomed in.

But I figure that's where the gg0 ti would come in. Howver, then setting it as the dedicated physx card I see no change, I still get those drops to the 30s. The latest drivers are installed. Used driver sweeper and several wipes with CCleaner to make sure I did a fresh install.

I have MSI AB install and i'm using it to show the stats of the cards. the 660ti is running usually getting about 25-35% usage in those heavy fight and the clock is running at its 1020mhz default. Is it just that BL 2 is poorly optimized for physx or is the my setup not configured properly?

did u just say ur card is only getting 20%-35% usage? Thats your problem
