Pick a build help me choose

Hello boys and girls im upgrading my mobo/ram/cpu i have 500GBP budget ive put 2 bundles
together that i cant decide between one is intel the other amd. I will be gaming on this 1080p-1440p 144Hz. no rendering etc

Amd build
MSI X470 GAMING PLUS AM4
Ryzen 7 2700x
Corsair Ven LPX DDR4 3000Mhz

Intel Build
MSI Z390 GAMING PLUS LGA1155
Intel i5-8600K
Corsair Ven LPX DDR4 2666Mhz

Reason for upgrade is better performance and future proofing
Also because my current mobo has 2 faulty DIMM-Slots so i cannot run my ram in dual-channel

AMD - If you're going to performing other tasks aside from Gaming.
Intel - If you're going to be strictly gaming.

Personally, I'd go with the 2700X just because its newer than the 8600k and reasonable in price.

8600k release - 2017
Ryzen - 2018

CPU Speed from 8600K to 2700X is a +1%.
However, 2700X has 16 threads versus your 6 thread 8600k.

So if you're strictly gaming, it's definitely the Intel route mate. You may also need liquid cooling for the Ryzen, I'm unsure cause I'm getting mine on XMAS. But I know my FX-9590 is a heat gun, lol.

Seems like you would be better off with the Intel build with your needs. I was going to go the Intel route before I quit my second job.

AFAIK, the 2700x is quite an extravagance for gaming.
Its main advantage is its extraordinarily faster multitasking capabilities.
Other than that, you could be able to get a +-5% performance with an r5 2600x. You really don't need that many cores for gaming, so you could economize as well.
If I were you, I'd either go 2700x, 2700, or 2600x.
Just for the record, the difference in gaming performance compared to all the aforementioned CPUs is about 20%, so I'd personally go w/ the AMD setup because it is newer and more efficient in multitasking.
Indeed, the intel setup will push ahead by 15fps or so, but keep in mind that CPU dependency decreases as you increase the resolution. You'll have to balance this gain against the 2xxx's potential for general use.
The AMD lineup also has a better RAM kit.
