Hi,

I need some help choosing a GPU, out of these 3.

1. Gtx 950 windforce2 oc 2gb gddr5 - $248.00
2. Gtx 950 xtreme gaming 2gb gddr5 - $285
3. Gtx 960 windforce 2gb gddr5 -$289

A 970-980 is way overkill in price and I dont plan on playing any high end AAA titles just mobas, hs, starcraft, and some other games. And before you have a heart attack those prices are in AUD and correct. Shit is very exspensive here ^_^.

Thank You :)

960 is the base for 1080p gaming u can run any game with medium to high settings with 60 fps... 950 is for moba gaming and since u do play some other titles which im assuming like fallout 4 jst cause 3 u need the 960.... however to run modern games in the highest details some games does require more vram so a 960 4gb one i what i suggest if u have some cash and it will be worth the money if not 960 2gb is fine to....

Hey, don't dis the 950. It's a perfectly capable card that will run most games just fine at high/ultra settings. I have the EVGA GTX 950 FTW and got it for $260 on PC CASE GEAR (it is now $289) and has no problems running every single game I have. Plus the EVGA card has very good cooling and build quality. Since you aren't going to play very demanding titles I think it's a perfect graphics card for you

I live in Australia as well, I feel your pain ;-;

Good thing I read this before purchasing, I have been stuck on gpu selection for days and it is really quite annoying. The cards just dont increase performance enough to warrant the price tags.

Exactly why I bought a 950

Trust me, for non-demanding games the 950 is a really good card. If you want you can look up game tests on YouTube for the Geforce GTX 950, you won't be disappointed. I'd recommend the ASUS STRIX, MSI or GIGABYTE cards, because many stores don't stock EVGA products

Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1k6nTgxFnk

Where abouts in Australia do you live? If you live in Perth there's a great store called Austin Computers that has very competitive pricing

like i said 950 is for moba gaming and it can run fallout in medium 60fps but when a modern title come that u wanna try out the 950 jst falls behind... 960 is far more better option and will future proof u than the 950.... jst waste of money if ur going for a 950 instead of a 960

I'd definitely eliminate the middle card. Not that it isn't a solid mid-range card, but simply because it's too close to the 960 in price - anytime you choose to go with #2 over #1, it's obvious to take #3 over #2.

The performance of the 950 and 960 are very similar and, like I said, it is not meant for only moba games, as it can play lots of games just fine on ultra/high settings. The 950 has DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5 support, so that will keep you going for at least 3 years, and I don't see how the 960 will future proof you any longer than the 950.

And just to prove you wrong, Techspot got 51 FPS on Ultra High settings in Fallout 4, here is the link

And it's quite the contrary, I think that it's a waste of money to go with the 960 instead of the 950

51 vs 63????? there is gap of 12 fps

Yes, there is a gap but not enough to impact your experience
And anyway, your estimation was WAY off the actual performance
