Picked up an E7 8880-V3, looking for single socket board

So, I picked up a Xeon E7 8880-V3 18core CPU (refurbished) for really cheap. I do a lot of 3D work so I figured, because of the price, it was worth the buy to have 36 threads ready to go.

Now I can do one of two things, flip the card on eBay and make a few bucks OR what I would prefer to do is build a render node around the CPU. Problem is, I can’t seem to find a single socket motherboard for this particular cpu. Do they exist outside the sever space? If not, do they exist at all in a single socket format? Everything I’ve read says it’s LGA2011, but that doesn’t necessarily mean any LGA2011 socket will work (right?).

This is obviously an oddball system, and not one that would normally be practical, but I got the cpu so cheap I figured it would be worth a shot. And I might learn something in the process.

Thanks for any direction!

I Came across it by accident on Newegg. I haven’t gotten it yet and I don’t know if it’s fully legitimate, but it was 20$ with shipping and should be here tomorrow...

I figured even if it turns out to be junk, it was worth 20$ on the off chance it got mis-marked for some reason.

Ha! There is absolutely something wrong with the price! I saw it and knew what it was. I figured it was a worthwhile 20$ gamble. If I get it and it’s the CPU, awesome! If I get it and it’s a picture of a CPU, then oh well, it was worth it just to see, buyer beware and all that.

That said I didn’t think there was a single socket cpu, but I figured I would ask and see if anybody smarter than myself might know of something.
