My Toshiba 5TB, just as it filled, has gone bad. E.g., things get 'disk write errors', programs with disk activity go to blank screens, etc. I bought it over 4 years ago, but installed it perhaps 2 years ago. Warranty was only 2 or 3 years.

So I'm interested in a bigger HD; going all SSD would be nice, but I don't want to get several TB of SSD, so I'll stay with one SSD for OS and games where load speed is more critical, and buy a new, larger HD.

Factors are pretty obvious - performance, reliability, value - but low noise is also important. Some high quality drives are described as loud.

I've gotten one suggestion, linked below; I'd be interested in feedback, either pro or con for that, or other suggestions. Price for this one is $265; from Newegg it's over $100 more.

Some people seem pretty passionately in favor of 'enterprise' drives, as opposed to the consumer drives such as Seagate black.
