Hi everybody, over the summer I am thinking about building a desktop PC for gaming and I have just about all my build completed except for my Graphics Card. I was originally set on getting the MSI GTX 670 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127685). But I was looking at some of the Radeon 7970's (MSI ones) and saw that the 2 cards were fairly similar (besides price). Any suggestions on which I should get?

Oh and if you have any suggestions on my build please let me know. The link to it will be below.

Build link: I don't have a GPU or monitor in the build yet

I'd say get 7970 for pure performance, or 670 for extras like physx.

Nvidia has better drivers, although new catalysts are quite cool too. Is this MSI with Twin Frozr cooler?

If You can get Msi z77-GD55 board - go for it. I'd say it's a bit better for OC.

For RAM I'd say go for Corsair Vengeance 1333 MHz low profile with XMP (easily switches to 1600MHz) just to leave space for cooler (ram with extra radiator may not fit under cpu cooler).

CPU Cooler: switch to Thermalright HR-02 Macho (although check if it will fit in case! or Enermax ETS T40-TA and remember to buy extra paste for cooler (I used Noctua NT it's amazing)

No reason to pay more for GHz edition. You can just overclock normal 7970 and get pretty much same results. Both cards after OC should perform similar, maybe GHz edition has some better chips but I don't think You will notice difference bigger than 50 MHz on final overclock. GHz edition is same tahiti gpu revision, same pcb, same vrm - the only difference is BIOS.
