Hi. I am thinking about purchasing a new processor. I currently have the AMD BE 3.4ghz 4 core. Love it. Only problem is, I'm trying to record gameplay videos on the best possible resolution and every time I try to O.C. to a certain point(namely anything above 3.6), I get BSOD. I updated my bios, and updated my Catalyst software recently and can't seem to O.C. I'm not trying to go crazy on air cooling, but atleast 3.8 stable. I am using the stock fan. My GFX card or CPU have issues OC to any small increase. Besides that, I've considered getting a new CPU. As of now, I can't seem to find the right one. All the benchmarks and reviews peg the AMD 8 core as a flop. Any recommendations? Should I switch to Intel? Is there a good 6 core AMD I could use? or is the 8 core not as bad as everyone claims?
Current Set up:
HIS HD Radeon 6970 2gb
AMD x4 B.E. 3.4ghz
M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G
750w psu
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600.
Just an FYI for the quality of games recorded, Skyrim, BF3, Guild Wars 2, and Tera to name a few for a general idea on the level of quality I want to record at the highest possible in game settings it would allow me.
