As a beginner builder, I need some advice on whether the following build would be optimal for entry gaming/graphics PC:

Case: Corsair Obsidian 450D
Mobo: ASRock Z97 Extreme4
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW+ ACX 2.0+
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 PC14900/1866MHz CL9 2x8GB
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 720rpm ST2000DM001
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 850W
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24F1ST
Monitor: 2x Acer XB270HU

I am mainly interested in the following points:
1. Will the selected motherboard be an overkill?
2. Will the CPU cooler suffice for a moderate OC?
3. Will the selected GPU be an overkill?
4. Since I am not really planning to OC my RAM, and the given CPU defaults to 1600MHz, should I pick a 1600MHz counterpart instead?
5. Will the selected PSU suffice when it is time to OC?

I have selected this build based on my budget and after going through a pile of part selection guides and reviews. Regardless of the fact, please bear in mind that I am very new to the field, so I might be way off with the given build. Any constructive input will be appreciated :)

Hi -HH-, and thanks for looking through my build. Would you say that the same PSU at 650W would be better suited? Also, what would happen if I one day decided to go for SLI?

Quite strange, but they cost exactly the same in my country... Nevertheless, I think I will go for the 850W version in case of future upgrades 😉

Hehe. Well now I am even considering a G2 750W sweet spot. It is only 10$ extra compared to the 650W. What do you think?

1. I don't know much about ASRock to be honest, and I'm partial to Asus, but that motherboard is still great. Perfect if you're going to be OCing.
2. Yes.
3. That's a nice card and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's more than enough for anything at 1080p. It MAY even play some games at 1440p but that is totally dependant on which game you're playing and at what settings. (low, medium, high)
4. You'll be fine with 1600Mhz.
5. That PSU with handle two GPUs and a CPU, all overclocked, along with any cooling solution you have in your build, just fine.
