Pickxx wants this sticky?

Pickxx want this sticky ... he's worked hard on it, that's obvious. I think we should make it a sticky. He asked me to make a sticky and lock it. Unless there are objections, I'm going to do it for now.

Note: It is an AMD biased post/article ...

Note: I'm not going to sticky it till both of you have read it. Note that it does state that AMD is the only gaming chip to use ...

1) If you want to game, you want AMD. PERIOD!

Is this too much?

Jake,

FYI pickxx contacted me, and I told him to contact the "real" mods (i.e. you guys  ).

I have no problem with what you and dh would do. I did not see any amd bias, unless I am missing something.

He wanted to lock the sticky, so I suggested to him to create a parallel open to all thread, and then have the best of the replies posted to the sticky at a later time. Of course, the two threads need to xref each other.

I really don't know how to create a parallel thread (unless you just copy the original) ... so perhaps you could explain this?

I didn't read the whole thing in detail, so I missed the AMD reference... up to you guys, you know the feel of the forums.

I suggested that besides the locked sticky, create an open thread, and just put a reference url inside each... use the open thread to solicit comments, and post the best of the comments to the sticky at a later time.

1st ... I'd have him "tone down" the title ... maybe even a please ... lmao, we just may gentrify pickxx yet ... (and kill those !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

2nd ... I'd ask him to suggest that, at present, AMD seems to be the best choice for gaming rigs ...

My 2¢ worth ...

DH, your turn!

I stickied it and locked it and sent him a PM suggesting that he might want to change it to "right now" so that people don't see any bias in it since if you haven't been following the benchmarks that remark would sound fanboyish.

I didn't see this. Sorry.

I'm still not clear on how you see this being done. I like the idea of a discussion thread, but am unsure as to how to do it.

We have locked the thread (and he did reword it to make it "politically" more palatable). So now I'd like to see the discussion thread, but need you to do an example. For them to stay in close proximity, the 2nd thread really needs to be a sticky too.

The 2nd thread does not need to be a sticky IMO. The sticky just has a url reference to the 'working' thread, and people can post there. Simple.

Very simple. Poor Jake just needs some coffee

I did not mean any disrespect :? I have often been rightly accused of being brief in my writing, to the point that the reader would have a hard time decoding it 8O
