Of course they were supposed to be weapons initially but they cited the
reason of their animation in combat being problematic. I think that is a
bit of a cop out though. I mean - look at the short spear animation or
rather the lack of it. But maybe they wanted some kind of attack from
across the screen effect like the way arrows fly around. Oh well. No
Indiana Jones in UO.
