Pico Psu Installation Help (250 watt)

Solution
it's too big to fit on top of the 24pin, so you have to screw it to the case somehow, making sure not to short anything out, and making sure it can stay cool... not a trivial install.

ok cool thats what i was starting to imagine , im new to this stuff this is my 2nd build so sorry if these are super noob questions. what kind of screws would i use? how would i make sure to not short anything out?

second build I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

And if you have to ask the question 'how do I stop it shorting' then you are not electrically competent (don't take that the wrong way) enough, if you were you'd have just said 'OK' and known what to do. The problem with telling you the answer is that it infers that this is the only problem, but what else haven't you spotted?

So for the screw anything that'll fit and is not big enough to touch anything else on the board. Or you could use cable ties and 'hang' it inside the case. Various stiff plastics can be used to insulate, wood at a push but if there an overheating problem can it cope with the temps.
