You can see that I cut a hole to run cables:

This is a close up of the hole I created to run cables (upper right)

I tried to keep the cables neat and clean.

What do you think for a first time build?

This is a link to pictures of my new Cooler Master V8 that I just installed:

Thanks it was really fun to build and I learned a lot.

If anyone want to see the other side of the case to see a better shot of the custom holes just let me know and I will add them to this post.

Thanks everyone!

Mark

ok I will add them this Friday.

Also you can see that I need a longer modular 8 pin power cord for the MO so I can route it out and back in.

Anyone know where I can get one?

very nice build Mark,

GJ.

I had the same problem with my NZxT tempest case, my Rosewill RX-950 8 pin cord is not long enough, I tucked mine behind the Grafix card and up along the North bridge. It would be nice to run it out and back in, if you find out were to get the extra cord then PM me

oopss...thats why it isn't working......lol......

The organge slots are the primary slots for this MO (position 2,4,6 or A1,B1,C1)

3.2 GHz I think or was it 3.8 GHz. I am not at my PC during the week I'm a consultant on the road during the week.

roadrunner197069,

Do you remember what we OC'd it too?

It probably doesnt these days but back in the last century when 64 mb of RAM was huge there were BIOSes that wouldnt run set up like that .
Before dual channel motherboards you would have odd things like

ram stick A in slot 0
rams stick B in slot 1
would be fine

but if you went

RAM stick B in slot 0
RAM stick A in slot 1

then it wouldnt run at all .
Things are a lot simpler these days

Maybe someone else can remember why it used to be like that .

nice, getting good temps on a stock cooler, specially when oc'd. Was going to say, get a dark knight s1238v cooler for that cpu but, your pretty much set on those temps.

ShortStuff,

I just ordered this cable along with the CollerMaster V8.

roadrunner19,

My temps are real good with the stock HSF but summer is coming and I want to be sure it will be cool.
Also it looks real cool also......

I will update my pictures once I get it all installed and working.

hey mark, im curious what did the cooler master v8 do?? did your temps drop significantly??

i am about to pick up the Xigmatek Dark Knight, and am curious as to what the differences would be between the Knight and the V8?

See. You can solve the cable management problems of an Antec 900 with a little bit of work.

It's too late now, but I would have suggested cutting another hole in the bottom of the case so you could change coolers without pulling the motherboard.
