Hey all,

So right now I am using a 27" Samsung TV as the monitor for a new PC build. The problem is that the picture just doesn't look right. Everything on the screen looks kinda not sharp and very digitalized. Especially Text and WEB browsing. Is this typical when using TV's as monitors? Is there a way to fix it? Does it effect the picture quality in games?

I am building this PC to be used as a gaming PC, but I intend to often play from the couch. I want to buy a 4K TV to match my 1080ti when I get it for an awesome couch gaming experience. I am not going to be able to do this with good results?

It depends on what the max resolution of your TV is. Set it to whatever max possible is. Then try to match it on your desktop, without scaling.
Yes this may mean you'll be running at 720p but that's the downside using a tv. That is until you get a 4k one or something :)

Yea, my TV is set to 1080 like it should be. Not that I'm looking even closer at the image, it's doing some kind of shadow or ghosting image too. To the left of every text or image there is a slight shadow of the image like .5mm to the left. Very weird. It's wreaking havoc on my eyes.

Thanks. I gave that a read. I think I am sol though as this TV is a good few years old and it doesn't seem that I can do any of that stuff. Oh well. Sounds like a new 4k TV will do just fine then. Too bad the good ones are $3000. I've been kicking myself for months for not getting the ks8000. Now they basically doubled the price on that thing and made it the Q series. Blah

Nevermind I lied! I was able to rename my hdmi in to "PC" and now all the text is fixed!! Much easier on the eyes! Though the color levels have been reduced a lot and the picture looks a bit more washed out. Maybe not the best setting for gaming, but for surfing the web and regular PC stuff this is much better! Thanks!

^^^ I'm running off the 7700k integrated graphics as I dont have a GPU yet. Where on my PC would I look to adjust these? I can;t seem to find it. As for the TV, it seems to lock you out of the color options once you rename the input to PC. Weird, and a pain in the ass.
