running windows 10 home, in the This PC/pictures folder I have a group of family photos, the folder is named: Desktop Pictures, I have had this folder set as my screen saver for a few years, using settings/personalisation/background, the background is set as slideshow and the album set as desktop pictures, recently I had a windows update and now the desktop picures folder shows empty when viewd through the settings option, yet if I go to this pc/picures/desktop pictures, all pictures are there, I have tried setting as C:/users/<name>/pictures/desktop pictures, again the folder is shown as empty, but opening the pictures folder they are all there, has the windows update caused this? and how can I show the picures in the settings search? all help and advice appreciated, https://i.postimg.cc/W3Tydkg7/pics.jpg & https://i.postimg.cc/CKHPpxXn/pics-missing.jpg

Try renaming the directory to "Desktop Pictures-1".
Create another directory named "Desktop Pictures".
Copy the contents of the "Desktop Pictures-1" directory to the "Desktop Pictures" directory.
Check to see if the situation has been resolved.

If that fixed the problem, delete the "Desktop Pictures-1" directory and hum a tune.

If the problem persists, delete the "Desktop Pictures" directory, re-name the "Desktop Pictures-1" directory back to "Desktop Pictures" and explore other potential causes.
