Hey guys, so I'm desperately trying to decide on a primary monitor, around 24". I'm working as a wedding photographer, so I need a good quality screen for editing pictures/video. Unfortunately my budget is limited.
So for photography, everyone seems to make it sound like IPS is the way to go. Unfortunately most of those are out of my price range. So what if I slightly alter my budget, lets say, $300-375 for the primary monitor and just $100 for the secondary. I know glossy screens are supposed to be much better for picture editing, so I'd definitely prefer that as I'm not as worried about glare.
I checked out that BenQ EW2420 and its pretty solid. Its a VA panel which is nice, just worried about their dead pixel policy so looking at other possible options...
I did some more research and found the Samsung 2443BW+ 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor. I'm not sure if this is VA or anything, but looks like a really solid monitor with 1900x1200 which is very nice for me.
The Dell UltraSharp U2311H looks like a good IPS. Only concern is that I've heard of quite a few people having tinting issues with these, I think? I also heard Dell support is horrible. Its only $222, which is pretty surprising for an IPS, which makes me wonder why its so cheap.
Any advice on this is GREATLY appreciated and ANY other recommendations are welcome. My MAX budget would be $400 for the primary so I still have $100 for the secondary. I know this limits my options, and I don't expect to get the best... just the best I can for my price range. Thanks!
