I hate to post again, but here it goes:

After having a rough time updating to 1909, I'm finally here and aside from a few visual changes nothing happened. I just checked my "Pictures" folder in Windows Explorer, only to find that they're all gone and replaced with a few empty folders (Camera Roll, Saved Pictures, Screenshots) and a link to OneDrive titled "Where are my files". Went to my OneDrive, to only find two out of hundreds of missing pictures in the OneDrive. Checked the other various "Pictures" folders that Windows likes to make to no avail.

Perhaps I'm just being dumb, but would anyone have some ideas as to where my pictures went? As far as I can tell, nothing else is missing.

Solution
See if installation created a user windows.old, if so look in that picture folder.
I store all my good stuff on anything but the boot drive and back up often.
