Why does this feel like the Verizon and AT&T marketing. You know, Verizon making a good point and AT&T saying "nuh-uh! you suck more".

[citation][nom]micr0be[/nom]i dont get it ... why don't i remember this much hype for ATI 5XXX series....[/citation]
ATI 5xxx wasn't (and isn't) a big deal. Fermi is.

[citation][nom]xsamitt[/nom]With the Heat issues this card is sure to have there is no way i'd be buying this.[/citation]
According to whom? You the electrical engineer or the websites that never got a card to review because they aren't review site? (With NDA in place, even if the card is hot we won't hear it from Anand, Tom's, [H] until tomorrow.

The average consumer is very stupid - look at all the folks who bought $500+ current DX11 cards so that they can play 3 games in DX11. I bet you that most of those same people wouldn't be able to tell the difference if somebody switched it to DX10 mode - they wouldn't even know.

So of course people are gonna gobble this garbage up - it's made for stupid folks... just like any video card that is above $300 offering features that 99.9% of games can't use.

[citation][nom]micr0be[/nom]i dont get it ... why don't i remember this much hype for ATI 5XXX series....[/citation] Why do you even care? Simply put their were no major expectations with the ATI 5XXX series. Fermi of course is late as it is and Nvidia's first DX11 part plus all the useful/helpful new CUDA goodies as well as extra tessellation emphasis so naturally their is going to be more expectations.

When ATI has been late in the past their has been plenty of hype around their products as well and just like at AMD's CPU's their is always hype around them because they're always behind schedule compared to Intel and when their really late their is that much more hype as you call, but it's really just expectations.
