Discussion Pictures of my new build (FINALLY WORKED)

If you are looking for a cheapish custom desk, you can get materials together for about 100-200 dollars with a box of screws. You need table top legs, a table top, some screws, and about 15 minutes labor.

I personally do not like Ikea furniture, though the prices can be tempting. The ability to support much more weight and quality of materials can be much higher with a little elbow grease an a bit more money.

Most Ikea furniture is made out of the same material as OP's current desk

And OP says they have five dollars to their name, so a more appropriate suggestion would be to construct an Amazon-type door desk using free file cabinets and an old door from the free section of Craigslist. If OP is lucky enough they may find an actual desk there.

The one I recommended is solid pine. Zero junk.

Regarding Craigslist, that is a great idea. Years ago, I acquired a desk (wish I had kept it) a solid oak office desk that way.

The "cost" was to get out of the previous owner's house.
