PID.exe doesn't sound like an XP process. Seems to be a spyware item. Run an ad-aware and virus scan. Both scans can be run for free.

i guess i was not clear in earlyier post. i was using spybot S&D abd looking at the processes in the process list window it lists " pcrocess, PID parent and path" i was wondering what the PID stood for? hope this is clearer than last post.
