am building AMD duron 850 right now, and want to see what the limits are of my p3...

Anyway to unlock clock multiplier? (P3-450)

Aopen ax6bc mb
latest bios
sitting at 35 degrees with 124 mhz by 4.5, but changing clock multiplier in bios doesn't actually change anything. How do I change that?
also the motherboard chooses the voltage itself, is there anyway to trick it into feeding anything higher?

your manual should tell you how, if you can change the voltage. As for the multiplier, all intel chips are multiplier locked, no way around it.

The motherboard selects voltage by itself, so I have no way of changing that. I have to assume that the processor itself decides what clock multiplier it has and what voltage that it needs. This problem has been solved for socket A cpu, hasn't anyone come up with anything for this gen of P3?

IF you cange your bus speed to 133 you can take it to 600MHz. YOu may need to raise your voltage to make it stable. Then again, it might not work! But it's worth a try! The PIII Katmai tops out at around 600MHz.

I have a p3 450 SL35D running at 657@146 fsb. On the cpu itself cover connectors A-119,B-119 and A-121 to raise the core voltage to 2.2 volts. Also you might try http://WWW.H-ODA.COM and download WCPU L2100.exe to change the latency of your l2 cache for a higher overclock.

I aint signing nothing!!!
